SUMMARY:ASHRAE Course: The Future of Refrigerants: Challenges and Opportunities (MENA)
DESCRIPTION:This training provides a background review of international treaties and initiatives that support the transition from hydroclorofluorocarbon (HCFC) and hydrofluorocabon (HFC) refrigerants towards non-ozone depleting (ODP)\, low global warming potential (GWP) substances. A review of proposed refrigerants and how they can be used in different HVAC&R applications based on theoretical and empirical analyses are discussed. Challenges and opportunities associated with the different types of refrigerants: hydrofluorolefins\, and natural refrigerants are presented. Refrigerant options now and in the future that suites the region\, and related Standards and Codes of Systems and Substances are also covered. Finally\, the workshop wraps up with a discussion on the system’s perspective and how to best understand the opportunities for energy efficiency improvements along with hands-on experience with free software such as the ORNL Life Cycle Climate Performance web application and the ORNL Heat Pump Design Model. \nCourse Instructor\nOmar Abdelaziz\, Ph.D. \nCost:\n$405 for non-member\n$311 for ASHRAE Member\n$270 for ASHRAE Falcon Member. For information\, contact Ayah Said at globaltrainingcenter@ashrae.org \n———————————————— \n*Special Offer: Enroll for both HVAC Design Essentials (MENA) and The Future of Refrigerants: Challenges and Opportunities (MENA) courses (6-9 May 2018) and SAVE! \nCost:\n$1050 for non-member\n$860 for ASHRAE Member\n$800 for ASHRAE Falcon Member \n \nCost:\n$405 for non-member\n$311 for ASHRAE Member\n$270 for ASHRAE Falcon Member

SUMMARY:Free Seminar: Innovative water source VRF technology and its applications
DESCRIPTION:Hisense water-source multi-split air conditioning system successfully combines water-source control technology\, multi-split control technology\, DC inverter-driven technology and environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant\, blends the technical advantages of air-cooled multi-split inverter-driven air conditioning and water-cooled chiller unit\, and takes advantage of the low-grade heat such as ocean\, soil\, industrial waste heat and municipal wastewater to realize cooling and heating\, then greatly saves energy. \nThe adoption of water-source multi-split air conditioning system is free from conventional low-temperature climate and geographical constraints\, it can be widely used in the following water conditions and also be used in combination with other energy sources such as solar and other new energy. \nSpeaker: Mr. Li Ning\, senior mechanical engineer & technical solution director of Hisense/Hitachi\, with more than 10 years VRF solution experience. \n  \nFor registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/innovative-water-source-vrf-technology-and-its-applications-tickets-45627974500
